Happy Birthday E!

The last year with you has been amazing
and we have all loved every minute of it. You are the happiest,
smiliest little boy ever. You bring so much joy to our lives and
Mommy and Daddy love to watch how well we all play. We are all so
“connected” in one way or another and it amazes them daily how
close we are for how young we all still are. Your face just lights up
when you see Sutton or me, and you are the first person we want to
see in the morning...especially Sutton. She is always chomping at the
bits for you to wake up.
You now have 6 teeth (which you
occasionally use to bite us in play) and you have become quite the screamer!
They are always happy screams, but you don't have a lot of word so
instead you scream. Dinner time is full of laughing because
inevitably one of us will do something to get you screaming, then we
start laughing, then you laugh and scream and then soon enough we are
all laughing and actually eating is a lost cause. Your new favorite
word is “mom” and she is loving every minute of it. You said it
with such intention and emphasis- “moM”- and always with a smile.
Of course you also call Daddy and even sometimes Nicole, “mom”
too but she knows you know who is who ;)
You have perfected using a fork and
spoon and straw and snack trap...all talents Sutton and I didn't
learn until much older. You have such relentless persistence to learn
that kind of stuff though that its no surprise. You're motor skills are very advanced and
love to use your hands to build things and put things together- much
more than Sutton and I ever did. You love to sit with blocks or even
just tupperware- stacking or putting lids on and taking them off,
and boy do you love your trucks and balls! And we aren't sure where
you learned it, but you have the vroom vroom sound of a truck down
and love to make it as you scoot around the room pushing your trucks.
And speaking of being all boy...you are
a CLIMBER! Although you have zero desire to walk unassisted, you can
scale the climbing wall or the slide to the play-set faster than
Mommy and Daddy can get across the yard to spot you. There isn't
anything you don't want to climb and we can't take our eyes off of
you. You also (like your sisters!) LOVE to dance, although since you
aren't walking or even really standing yet, its a lot of swinging
your arms to the beat, but its still super cute.
E, we all love you so much and never
could have guessed the joy you would bring to our lives. You are our
“buDDy” (said by Sutton with a cute over-emphasis on the D), our
“little rugrat” (also a nick-name preferred by Sutton) and most
of all, the light of our lives. Its been an amazing year with you and
we look forward to what kind of adventures the next year with you
will bring!
And how better to celebrate your big day than with a party!
