Sister Sutton Update

Well, Mommy is 34 weeks pregnant yesterday, which means that technically she has 6 more to go...however, I was born at 34 weeks and 3 days so its anyone's guess. Mommy is doing better than she did with me though- by this time with me she was already in the hospital because of her pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure, swelling and high protein levels). She has had a couple of hospital runs though due to elevated blood pressure, but fortunately they eventually sent her home both times and so far she's avoided having to stay overnight. The chances are about 50/50 that the same thing will happen this time as it did with me and unfortunately we are starting to see the early signs of it, however it generally comes a little bit later with each pregnancy. The doctors are hoping that this time instead of 34.3, they can get Mommy to 36 weeks, which means sister Sutton will only be 4 weeks early. The good news in though that Sutton is measuring a lot bigger than I did. I was only in the 12th percentile, and although at 28 weeks Sutton was just in the 26th percentile, she has hit a growth spurt and is now in the 41st percentile meaning that she currently weighs about 5 lbs! The doctors have taken Mommy off of work and have her on "modified" bed rest, meaning she can still take care of me as long as we just hang out at home- no wild play dates or trips to the pool. We have been SO lucky though to have such wonderful friends and family that have been more than willing to take to play for a while so that I can burn off some energy and Mommy can rest. Mommy says that we never could have gotten this far if it weren't for her special friends like the Hess family, Lindsay, Bridget and Sara and of course Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Stefan, Mimi, and Baba. They truly have been a life saver...and will surely continue to be a huge part of our lives even after Sutton comes. Thanks so much to all of you. We love you very much!

Here is a new picture of Sutton. It is much better than the last. Mommy says she looks a little like a parakeet in the last picture (from 28 weeks). This one is from 34 weeks and you can totally see her Cleveland button nose! (Just in case you haven't looked at 5 million ultrasound pictures like Mommy and Daddy, this is a front on picture, but her hand os covering her right eye so you can see her left eye plus her nose and mouth)


And of course, the post wouldn't be complete without a picture of me...the basket was full of scarves and gloves but after taking them all out and wearing them around for a while, I decided the basket looked awfully empty...
